Haunted House FearFest Film Festival

Sponsored by HauntTV, this year’s scary festivities will have live screenings at Midnight Theatre, featuring spine-chilling and pulse-pounding films from visionary independent filmmakers from across the globe. In addition to screenings, the festival includes trivia with prizes, a panel discussion, a premiere screening of HauntTV’s new series, and an award ceremony.

Friday Evening, October 6

Haunted House FearFest Film Festival 2023, Presented by HauntTV

COSTUMES ENCOURAGED!  Join us for a spine-chilling and side-splitting evening of horror and comedy films from around the world including: The Unquiet Dead, written and directed by John Gray, mastermind behind the long-running hit CBS series Ghost Whisperer and the heart-pounding film, The Prowler by director Tanguy Pochoy.  To lighten the mood, In Sickness & In Health, written and directed by Sarah Smick and SCAM, written and  directed by Julie Sharbutt, promises to deliver laughs along with a side of suspense.

And our feature film,  eVil Sublet, includes a panel discussion with the filmmaker and cast, written and directed by Allan Piper and featuring Sally Struthers, Jennifer Houston, and Charlie Tucker.  A couple finds their dream apartment in New York’s East Village (AKA the eVil). Who cares if it’s haunted by a horde of murderous ghosts when the rent is cheap and it’s got an eat-in kitchen, right?

COSTUMES ENCOURAGED! Dive into cinematic thrills this spine-chilling afternoon! Angels, directed by Samantha Aldana, follows a farmer caring for her ailing mother, whose world is upended by an unexpected visitor. Insect, from Canadian filmmaker Cherelle Ann Sarah Higgins, brings a tale of bitterness and supernatural intrigue.  Get Home Safe, directed by Noah Janssen, a  girl walks home alone at night. A killer in red follows. You think you know the story.

In Greed & Gore, directed by Adam Kirkey, five criminals seek refuge in the wrong safe house after a bank heist. Bliss of Evil, from Australian filmmaker Joshua Morris, thrusts a sound engineer and her girlfriend’s grunge band into a nightmarish scenario.

COSTUMES ENCOURAGED!  Get ready for the U.S. premiere of HauntTV’s  series History’s Most Haunted. Join paranormal investigators Corine Carey, Leanne Sallenback, and Kelly Ireland as they journey across North America, meeting with those who have come face-to-face with the unknown. In this special episode preceded by a discussion between the women,  the trio are on a mission to unlock a deeper understanding of the hauntings that take place in the world-famous locations they visit, in this case, Salem, Massachusetts, site of the infamous Witch Trials of 1692.

But that’s not all! Brace yourself for a bone-chilling horror film marathon, featuring global indie filmmakers competing for the coveted “Grim Reaper Award.” Dive into a night of supernatural tales, pulse-pounding terror, and engaging trivia games. It’s a cinematic experience you won’t want to miss.
