Heritage Auctions invites the public to a preview of its Summer Platinum Night
Sports Auction August 12-14 from 9 AM – 5 PM. The showcase will feature
more than 115 items, including some of the most significant sports memorabilia
ever auctioned.
Among the headlining items:
- A 2007-08 autographed Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant card, expected to sell for $6M and break the record for most valuable basketball card
- A game-worn and signed Mickey Mantle Yankees jersey photo-matched and expected to surpass $4 million
- The 1927 New York Yankees team-signed photograph
- Babe Ruth’s original 1923 pocket watch — a rare World Series-era replacement for a championship ring
- A 1939-40 elementary school photo bearing the earliest known Mickey Mantle autograph
Also on display are standout pieces honoring New York’s rich multi-sport
legacy:
- Knicks: 1970 NBA Championship ring (Dick Barnett) and the Willis Reed Game 7 ticket stub
- Mets: 1968 Topps Nolan Ryan Rookie Card
- Giants: Super Bowl XXI and XXV rings and a handwritten letter from team founder Tim Mara
- Jets: An original 1965 Joe Namath photograph, the only known example
