The Standard x Oktoberfest Kick-Off Block Party

In preparation for Oktoberfest, The Standard, High Line will be throwing a quintessential New York City-style block party with a full-blown street takeover. The iconic Meatpacking property, in partnership with the Meatpacking District, will occupy Washington Street between 13th and Little West 12th Street with an incredible array of activities including carnival games, a Ferris wheel, competitions, cookie decorating, DJs, an oompah band, pretzels, bratwursts and all the beer you can imagine. Entry is free but tickets are available for purchase which can be used to buy rides, games, food and drink. If you’re looking to forgo the individual tickets and treat yourself, an all-inclusive VIP package is available. With the purchase of the $200 VIP wristband, you’ll be granted access to an all-day open bar as well as an air conditioned lounge with a private bar and snacks – and at the end of the night wristband holders can “tap out” and turn it in for a bratwurst for the journey home. Celebrating Oktoberfest in the Biergarten won’t be limited to a singular day – starting September 21st, a two week line-up of programming will fill the streets with festivities until October 5th. Biergarten regulars and Oktoberfest fans alike will be able to enjoy additional activities like Flower Crown Making, Cookie Decorating, Beers of Germany Tastings, Indoor Carnivals and more.
