Join us for an Intimate Harlem Experience at Cafe Melo

Step into the liminal space where the echoes of Nina Simone, John Coltrane, and Billie Holiday converge with an Afro-Futuristic lyrical vibe. On Saturday, October 11th at Cafe Melo (345 Lenox Ave, Harlem), join us for She Sounds Like Harlem: Where the Story Meets the Music — an evening of live performance, film, and conversation.

Billie Holiday took extraordinary risks establishing the “Sound” of Harlem.  Continuing the tradition, Zock is a Renaissance Woman — poet, vocalist, and activist — who creates a sonic experience that transcends boundaries.

Her track “You Should Know That” was chosen as the official trailer for Spike Lee’s Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It (Season 2) and appears on Spotify’s curated playlist.

Her debut project, Zock Solid, Where the Stem Meets the Root, features Abiodun of The Last Poets, bridging generations of artistry. She now collaborates with Savion Glover on Project 9 while preparing her upcoming 2026 release.

At Café Melo, you’ll witness the unveiling of her new video, followed by “The Process” Talkback — a live conversation with the creative team about art, storytelling, and Harlem’s legacy.
