Sartre and Simone Off Broadway Play

Back by popular demand! After playing to packed houses for three weeks in 2025, Sartre and Simone returns for an encore run, opening January 29, 2026, at the legendary East Village venue Theater for the New City.

Simone de Beauvoir has a problem, her partner Jean-Paul Sartre is stuck in an existential fog. Simone believes that the only way to free him from this is their student Wanda Kosakiewicz but when the plan catches resistance from Albert Camus and the girls’ domineering mother, everything goes awry. Blending the philosophical principles of these great writers with absurd comedy Sartre and Simone is intellectual lowbrow art.
