Michele Mikesell’s Of Watchers, Tricksters & the Bold is a new solo exhibition that explores the liminal spaces between what is known and what lurks just beyond the perceptible. Across this body of work — largely painting with mixed media elements — Mikesell draws from myth, folklore, and personal mythology to conjure figures that are at once familiar and unfamiliar: watchers whose gaze holds both compassion and vigilance; tricksters who jolt perception and undermine certainty; and bold presences that embody transformation, defiance, or reclamation.
