Marble Church to Present ‘Justice and the Church: Women and the Social Gospel’

(New York) As part of its ongoing Racial Justice Series, Marble Collegiate Church will present “Justice and the Church: Women and the Social Gospel” on Sunday, January 15, at 12:15 p.m. in the Labyrinth Room of Marble’s historic Sanctuary, 1 W. 29^th Street at Fifth Avenue in New York City.

The discussion will focus on how women have pioneered paradigms of ministry that are rich in social action. Led by Rev. Rashad McPherson, Marble’s Associate in Ministry and Music, the conversation will explore opportunities for the 21st-century church to become meaningfully involved in causes for social action and will include special guests Rev. Dr. LaKeesha Walrond, President of New York Theological Seminary, and Rev. Kaji Douša, Senior Pastor, Park Avenue Christian Church.

Come early to celebrate the legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. during Marble’s worship service that begins at 11 a.m. Hear Rev. Rashad McPherson’s sermon, “A Job Only a Woman Could Do” and enjoy performances by the legendary Marble Community Gospel Choir.
