New York, NY — Following a sold-out run at the Chain Theatre Festival earlier this year, Nam’s Just a Yellow Cab in New York City returns to the stage—this time under the direction of playwright and producer Youlim Nam— as part of Pan Asian Repertory Theatre’s NuWorks Festival 2025.

Set entirely in the backseat of a yellow cab, the play follows Regina, a tipsy Brooklyn transplant on the cusp of 30, who dumps her birthday monologue to a cabby. What starts as a night of disappointment transforms into an unexpected moment of understanding between two strangers.

This new staging marks a shift from Nam’s previous performance in the lead role to directing the work she wrote, continuing her mission to tell raw, truth-chasing stories rooted in urban absurdity and transformation.

Featuring performances by Delil Baran and Han Na Shin, Just a Yellow Cab in New York City is a sharp, intimate slice-of-life story that captures a uniquely New York moment—one that’s messy, fleeting, and surprisingly tender.

The show will be performed at Theatre Row (410 W 42nd St, NYC) on Wednesday, June 18 at 7 PM and Sunday, June 22 at 3 PM, 2025.
