Juneteenth Jazz Jubilee

This June, Music on the Inside (MOTI) presents a moving series of live concerts featuring the MOTI Reentry Dream Band, a powerful ensemble of formerly incarcerated musicians performing with renowned jazz professionals. These performances celebrate musical excellence, personal resilience, and the transformative power of second chances.
Founded by Alina Bloomgarden, the original producer of Jazz at Lincoln Center, and with Wynton Marsalis as Artistic Advisor, MOTI is a nonprofit dedicated to bringing music education and mentorship to justice-impacted individuals. Hundreds of Grammy-winning musicians support this mission, united by a belief in music’s ability to uplift lives and restore dignity.
Audiences can expect spirited blues harmonica, soulful saxophone, smooth vocals, and masterful guitar and bass from musicians who have turned adversity into artistry. The concert series culminates in a joyful Juneteenth Jazz Jubilee honoring legends like Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Mahalia Jackson.
