Intimate Views by Nicole Santiago

New York, NY – First Street Gallery proudly presents Intimate Views, a solo exhibition by Nicole Santiago. This exhibition showcases a collection of small-scale oil paintings and drawings that explore the interplay of light, shadow, and color within quiet domestic spaces and landscapes. Santiago’s works will be on view from February 26, 2025, to March 22, 2025, with an opening reception on February 27, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm.

In her recent works, Santiago distills fleeting moments into small, luminous compositions, where shifting light transforms familiar interiors and landscapes into meditative spaces. More than studies in representation, these works explore the tension between structure and abstraction, memory and immediacy, stillness and flux. Light becomes an active force in these works––shaping form, dissolving edge, and infusing each scene with a sense of impermanence. With Intimate Views, Santiago invites viewers into a world of quiet reflection, revealing the beauty in the ephemeral and the everyday.
