Ian Hobson’s Robert Schumann Cycle Final Concert: Florestan And Eusebius
The internationally lauded and immensely versatile pianist and conductor Ian Hobson will conclude his celebrated Robert Schumann Cycle at New York’s Tenri Cultural Institute on Friday evening November 7, 2025, 7 p.m. EDT. Starting in 2020, this recital marks the finale of a five-year project that features the composer’s entire solo piano and chamber works with piano.
Naming this program “Florestan And Eusebius,” Schumann’s two pseudonyms representing the contrasting sides of his personality: Florestan his passionate, impetuous, and energetic nature, and Eusebius his introspective, thoughtful, and dreamy side; Mr. Hobson will complete his encyclopedic series with the essence of Schumann’s artistry.
