Greenwich Village Literary Pub Crawl

NYC’S BEST WALKING TOUR
Bar hop through literary history!
Join us for a 3 hour walking tour through the Village with stops at 3 historic bars. Hear the stories, poems, and prose that makes New York City the epicenter of American Literature. Forget everything you think you know about the Village! Celebrate the lore and legends, as we travel through the streets, and hear the writers tell personal stories in their own words.
Lit Pub Crawl is a small-business, run on passion for preserving and sharing the literary history and spirit of NYC. Founded in 1998 as the Greenwich Village Literary Pub Crawl, we’ve been going strong for over 25 years and are the longest-running tour in the Village. Our mission is to encourage people to read and broaden their bookshelves to include authors they previously were not familiar with. Our flagship tour, the Greenwich Village Literary Pub Crawl, has survived all of the changes of the Village including gentrification, the pandemic, and influencers. Our guides are local writers, actors, and artists who hold full-time careers outside of the tour — some of whom are now published authors themselves. Over the 25+ years of our tour, we have proudly inspired curriculum changes in schools and universities across continents, and most importantly have helped support libraries and local bookstores. By continuing to recite the poetry and prose of America’s greatest writers, we inspire and unite across cultures and generations.
