
EcoArts Festival on Governors Island

EcoArts Festival 2025, a free event produced by Artichoke Dance Company, kicks off Climate Week NYC showcasing ecologically inspired works by performing and visual artists as well as interactive workshops and participatory activities. The festival runs 11am-4pm and is located in and around the Climate Imaginarium, building 406A in Colonels Row on Governors Island. Register for the Festival here.
EcoArts Festival 2025 features inspiring dance and music performances (noon-2pm) by Artichoke Dance Company, Eco Angels, Damontae Hack, OakKAO: Kinetic Arts Outdoors and Miho Ryu on the lawn outside the Climate Imaginarium. Bring a blanket and experience the offerings from under large shade trees.
Reflective and joyous visual arts, sculpture and films by Eloïse Frey, Leslie Kerby, Janice McDonnell, Vasudev Vashisht, and Quinn Wynacht are open 11am-4pm in both the Climate Imaginarium (406A) and Duye Moves (405A) houses on Colonels Row.
Interactive participatory experiences are led by Iviva Olenick, Lenore Solmo, Vasudev Vashisht, and Chicava, Ishkara Heqwabti and Ndigo and include a workshop to transform local native plants into beautiful monoprints (11:30am-1pm), a QiGong workshop (1-2pm), a seed bomb workshop using natural clay and native wildflower seeds (2-3:30pm), a sound bath experience with Tibetan and crystal bowls (2-4pm), and an aquatic sculpture that grows throughout the day with festival goers input (11am-4pm).
