The New York Sephardic Jewish Film Festival  is part of a larger Sephardic festival “Festival Sefarad
A powerful week-long celebration of film, music, and community.
Michel Boujenah and Enrico Macias will be present.
This Festival includes the US premiere of Baba Sali. 
Hilula was a box office hit in Israel.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
We’re excited to announce that the 27th New York Sephardic Jewish Film Festival (NYSJFF) returns to New York City from June 8 to June 15, 2025, bringing a powerful week-long celebration of film, music, and community.

Opening Night – June 8 at El Museo del Barrio
This year’s Festival kicks off with a star-studded Pomegranate Awards Ceremony honoring:

  • Yael Naim (Music)
  • Roya Hakakian (Literature)
  • Michel Boujenah (Stage & Screen)
  • Fortuna (Cultural Preservation)

The Pomegranates are sculpted by world-renowned Baghdad-born artist Oded Halahmy. night will feature a special live performance by Fortuna with Trio Mediterraneo, joined by Grammy-winning trumpeter Frank London.

Throughout the Week, Experience Exclusive Screenings including:

  • World Premiere: YAEL
  • U.S. Premiere: Jinxed
  • U.S. Premiere: The Last Righteous Man (Baba Sali)
  • New York Premiere: Matchmaking 2
  • New York Premiere: The 90s – The Revelry (Hillula)

Closing Night – June 15
The Festival concludes with a spectacular live concert by legendary artist Enrico Macias!

This year’s NYSJFF is part of the inaugural Festival Sefarad NYC, a citywide celebration of Jewish joy, resilience, and unity made possible by the UJA-Federation of NY. The NYSJFF is dedicated to Ike, Molly and Steven Elias.
